MG TD TF 1500 - TF High Pressure Problem
Hi Folks. Hope you guys can advise me. I have a MG TF 135 and the Engine Coolant Bottle Started to boil and the temperature of the Engine rose. We immediately stopped the engine and let it cool down. After a pressure test was carried out in the coolent loop there was no air pockets found or hose damage and when i started the car back up it did exactly the same thing with the temperature rising. Would this be an internal leak in the engine as when i started the car back up and had the pressure guage on the bottle the guage indicated high pressure. Im not a mechanic but a mgtf fanatic and would appreciate some simple advise and a cost effective solution to the problem as it has just cost £200-00 to tow the vehicle back home. |

Jon - You got on the wrong BB. This one deals with TF 1250s and 1500s made in the 50s. You want the MGF BB, which also covers the modern TFs. Chers - Dave |

Hmmm... sounds like the 'new' TF blown head gasket problem I heard they had! |
