Anyone know where I can get a set of wheels and a windscreen for this? AJ |

PS I need a steering wheel as well!

I'm kinda partial to these myself but I imagine they would be to large. Nice work by the way.

Maybe a more suitable size...find them at airplane hobby stores.

LaVerne, I doubt it-not in that size. I used to make them in my aeromodelling days. These two are still hanging from the ceiling in my garage for the last 18 years. They did fly! Regards Declan |

Even smaller wire wheels -the rims were made from curtain rings. Regards Declan |

AJ, Here's a photo 18 years on. If you look at the wheel on the side of the plane just behind the wing-that was the elevator control wheel on the original aeroplane. That could be cannibalized for use as a steering wheel for you car by cutting out three spokes or replacing the spokes with very thin wires to look like the original TF steering wheel. That wheel in the photo was actually from a model boat. Regards Declan |

AJ, To make the windscreen frame I would use litho plate which is a very thin aluminium which used to be used in the printing industry and was a waste product. You can cut it with a nail scissors. We used it to make aluminium panels for WW1 aircraft-see Sopwith Triplane.1:4 below. See if you can resurrect a nearly deceased printer! I still have some offcuts that I could send you.
