MG TD TF 1500 - TF Tonneau Bars
Are the Tonneau bars mounting screws the only thing holding the backs on the seats? PJ |

Nope...Couple of examples here http://www.ttalk.info/TFSeatsbyLED.htm http://www.ttalk.info/mgtfSeatRecovering.html I have seen an even better one but I don't recall where at. |

Interesting, the first 8 pictures in the second link are from my article on a removable hood. Jud |

Rob Grantham's article is good http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/mgtf_tf_seats.htm |

Let me chase that one down, Jud. Sorry about that. Bud |

The tacks are hidden between the piping and the rear board. Bit tricky to drive in the groups of tacks simultaneously by hitting the board whilst keeping the tacks straight. Matthew. |

Are the tacks used, the old style household tack, or more of a wide head nail? Lots of fasteners are described as tacks, How about these. |

Paul, can you use your long nosed stapler to attach the seat back? |

JK, I doubt if the long nose stapler will work, seeing how the tacking strip is tight behind the backing board. I'll look today to make sure. PJ |

John/Jud, I have your original article. The problem is in converting a pdf file into html. Somehow, the image files for the 1st section became convoluted with those of Jud's hood article. I'm trying to find a way of correcting the problem. Now that I have the ARB installed I should be able to spend some time on it. Bud |

Paul, the original tacks are like those in your picture. Needle nose/birds beak pliers are very helpful. Matthew. |
