MG TD TF 1500 - TF Tonneau Cover
Just got back from MG Live at Silverstone and saw a TF with a half tonneau and I want one! I have never liked the full length ones and they remind me of Terry Thomas in School for Scoundrels (UK readers only?)but the one just covering the rear looked great. Do I slip the front of the cover through the rails on the rear of the seats and fasten it to the studs just under where the rails are screwed to the seat backs and then pull it to the rear of the car? I assume there is a short apron around the sides rear of the cover which is pulled over the body. I don't have any studs in the rear and sides of the body so how is the cover retained over the body. Many thanks for the replies Jan T |

Jan: Take a look at the 4 studs in the exterior shots of TF9052. It does not have a center stud as some have pointed they originally only had 4 LtD studs for the tonneau covers. On some of the original pictures that is because the tonneau dipped up for the tire rack cutouts and did not go back down again until the far side. Look at the fueling picture. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF9052/Thumbnails/mgtf_tf9052.htm |

Jan, the full tonneau will also tuck behind the seats giving almost the appearance of a half tonneau. If I am out sight seeing then I can easily cover the car with the full tonneau against showers or sticky beaks. Matthew. |
