MG TD TF 1500 - TF1500 restoration coming along
Since I received the shocks from Peter Caldwell things have moved along. Today I installed the front wheel bearings and, after 30 years, I should have it rolling again soon. I have started photo blog at http://mgtf1500.tumblr.com/ to record the restoration. |

Well done Chris, it's never too late to re-start. Attached photo is my TF 4887 on his 60th birthday in April. It has taken 4 years to get this far with most of the work done over the last 6 months....but....I have now retired (at 71) and will get stuck into it. Regards, Don Walker TF 4887 TC XPAG 7730 |

Welcome. Nice blog and congrats on what was done so far. Well done! I know the body is a long way but do you intend to keep the car originally grey? Frank |

G'day Chris, Good progress. Where are you located in Victoria? I am in Sunbury. I don't see your car listed on the Vic T- register site. I have a TF 1250 that is also under restoration although I am doing the bodywork and things are bogged down a bit at the moment. |

Don. that's a lot of progresses for 6 months and it's looking nice. Did you do the firewall before or after the engine/gearbox? Frank. The original colour was grey and it was ivory when I purchased the car - I suspect it was changed in 1967 during an earlier restoration. The grey is growing on me but the colour I've always planned is a deep maroon. Max. I'm in the Camberwell area. I've on recently rejoined the T register and for some reason the details fell off the register in the 80's when I bought the car and have not made it back on yet. Chris |
