MG TD TF 1500 - TF7211 / XPEG977 ROARS to life!!
What a great day.
TF race car owner/driver and MG engine builder George Pardee delivered and installed my hot rod XPEG today. Custom-grind roller cam, lightened flywheel, cylinders 0.030" over and head shaved just enough to clean up, balanced, and just about every part reconditioned or replaced. Some of the parts were at or near failure when George opened up the engine. George's wife Elyn and club members Mark Tidwell and Jeff Corenblum worked with George non-stop in my 95-degree garage to bring the engine to life. No fuel pump, so they filled the float bowls with gas and hot-wired the ignition. Don't need no stinkin' muffler. It was beautiful. Congrats. Lonnie on a milestone rebuilding your XPEG engine back to running order. Well done. Also I liked the detail with the Purolator decal located on the Purolator Oil Filter Canister. However, your Garage is far too clean and tidy! Rob Grantham |

Thanks guys. I am pretty happy. Rob - Of course you like the Purolator decal on my oil filter canister (tilted at the appropriate angle to match the original.) I bought the decal from you a few years ago. It's perfect! Spent four days cleaning the garage and finding parts for the installation before George came to install the engine. It looked like a train wreck after we finished ... had to dig through boxes to find more parts. Lonnie TF7211 TF681 |

Great! I remember last time….Your garage was cleaner than mine last time I was there. Yes it was brutally hot yesterday. How fun to hang out with Mark and George . George |

Lonnie: I love that you installed the decal Rob made tilted. And print that picture out or at least put it on your phone, when trolls challenge your restoration. :-) |

WTG Lonnie! Congrats! Now don’t do what I did once I got it running…stopped worrying about originality because I wanted to hurry up and get it on the road! Gene Saucier, MS |
