MG TD TF 1500 - Thanks
I just replaced my brake master cylinder and rebuilt the two rears.
I was reflecting on all the things I learnt from this forum over the years that enabled me to do this. I barely had to look at the WSM. lots of it is not in there. How to anneal & flatten copper washers for reuse. How to inject fluid into the wheel cylinders to make bleeding effective. The necessity of bench bleeding the master cylinder. Which holes to set my brake shoe return springs in. Setting the brake shoe adjuster all the way 'off' when bleeding. The discussion on 85 ftlbs vs 150 ftlbs torque on the rear axle nut. Swapping the nuts over if you don't get the right torque and pin hole alignment. Just wanted to say thanks :-) Dave |
