MG TD TF 1500 - Trip Meter Cable Placement
Is the trip meter cable knob end different on left hand drive cars verses right hand drive? I might be looking at it wrong, but Matthews appears to be attached to the left box. Should mine, LHD, be on the right box? PJ |

It's on the right box of unrestored LHD TF9052: http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF9052/TF9052_260.jpg http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF9052/TF9052_283.jpg Original cable and shop-made bracket and spacer on my LHD TF7211: (The big old wire tie has been removed) http://www.mgexp.com/phile/46/271480/ODO-full.jpg http://www.mgexp.com/phile/46/271481/ODO-closeup.jpg Lonnie TF7211 |

Paul - UPDATE The mounting bracket for my ODO cable is the original bracket. I did not make it in the shop as I first stated. You should be able to make the bracket, or perhaps buy a similar one. I bought the standoff at a surplus electronics warehouse. You must use the standoff to be able to grab the knob to rotate it. A plastic washer (from a milk jug) will protect the dash paint under the standoff. Speedo on RHD cars is on the left side of the dash, so the ODO cable is attached to the left box.
