MG TD TF 1500 - vinyl top pictures?
I'm in need of a new top, and can't afford what I'd like to install. With the moss sale on weather equipment, I'm considering installing a vinyl top for now. I have one on the car that is unfortunately VERY poorly installed. Does anyone have photos of their nicely installed vinyl top on a T? My car is a TF. Thanks... Alex |

FWIW, Alex, I have a tan fabric top that came with the car. If I was going to replace it I would choose black and not worry about dirt as much. I know a lot of "white" dirt would show but I find I am mostly cleaning dirty hand marks off. Mort |

Alex Try this link, not TD however should provide some insight. http://www.british-cars.org/mgtd-mgtf1500-bbs/duckvinyl-or-stayfast-hood-201207041617278112.htm Graeme |

Alex, Just make sure the top is pretty warm, even a little hot is not bad. I install tops in the sun when I can. If it's hot outside, be careful not to stretch the fabric too tight, as when it cools and the top is down, you might have a hard time getting it to secure to the windshield frame when you want to put it back up. Got a Moss vinyl top for my hotrod last year (low budget project). Turned out quite well, happy with it. Also covered the curtains with a Moss kit, was able to trim for a nice fit. Marvin

Thanks Marvin. That's what I was looking for. All the ones I've seen have been poorly installed. Yours looks very tidy. Alex |
