MG TD TF 1500 - Voltage Regulator Adjustment?
Does anyone have any simple directions for adjusting the 5 post voltage regulator? We tried re-polarizing the generator yesterday but no luck. Even with the new regulator, the warning light stays on. With the old Lucas regulator, the light went off but with the new one, a big ol steady red light... Thanks in advance, DaveL |

Dave, I would recommend aggressively cleaning the points on the old or new one prior to messing with the adjustments. Evan |

Dave, I have been watching this string. I went through a similar dfficulty many years ago back when generators were the only thing you had. Not on a MG but after a month of trouble shooting and numerous new electrical parts, we discovered a ground wire crimp was bad. Fixed it It fixed the electrical peoblems. Took all the new parts back and drove that Plymouth for another 2 years till it just died. Can't remember what wire (pre-whathisnames disease) Just a thought |

Just get anew solid state interior in an old box from Bob Jeffers(above)and never fool with it again.I'm a real believer. no interst, etc. |

Being one that is much better with wiring than mechanics.....one thing I have seen a lot of on friends cars: Re-painted and/or powercoated everthing, put it all back together, but never thought about getting the old dremell tool out and getting down to some bare metal for good grounds!
