Great car. You don't see many of those on this side of the pond. You should sure have some fun working on it. David.... |

What a prize! Show it again after you polish it. |

Did you notice the 'shifter'... am told it takes three mechanics to adjust it!!!! |

Very pretty, Gord. Congratulations. Should make quite a jewel after you spend few years on it! I had no idea this model was made for export. I believe it is a 6/90 not a 9/90 although there were later versions - the 6/99 and the 6/110. The 6/90 was used extensively by many UK constabulary. As I recall, there were 3 series of the 6/90. You appear to have the big rear window and probably have servo brakes; so I think you have the Series III. One other small item. I believe the red emblem in the grill is illuminated. Check it out. If I'm not mistaken, Nuffield/BMC illuminated the grill emblem on both the big Riley and the Wolsley of the day. It will make a great tow car for your TD and trailer. Good luck Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

It is a 6/90.. keep hitting 9 every time i type it (and usually spell Wolseley wrong).... The emblem does illuminate when the lights are on... The model is a European export (hence the weird shifter). It has turn signals instead of trafficators (although they are in the pillars but not working...might be just the outside lever welded in place?). Healy engine with 2 SU's. Overdrive unit doesn't work and has been bolted through (not sure what that means)....! |

Pretty car with lots of class. Enjoy! |

That gear change linkage must be something invented by Rube Goldberg (look it up if you're not aware of Rube Goldberg). Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Here is an interesting article by Neil Cairns on the engine- http://www.mgbbs.com/mgcc/sf/991012.htm Dallas |

Interesting... even the valve cover colour is the same as the Healey |

Side view looks a lot like a Volvo 122S. SEAMUS |

Is this the original color? Jeff |

Great car Gord,,, I can't wait to see what it looks like with a checker board grill !!!!! SPW |

Great car Gordon ! Are you interested in a few scanned magazine articles on the Wolseley ? Just let me know. Cheers, Nick, 52TD/63midget/74MGB. |

Would love any info...there is quite a bit that I have found but the more the better.. It is an original colour - 'Wolseley Champagne" And I see the Volvo look in the photo, but in person it is much larger so doesn't look the same.(?) hmmmm checker board....!!!! |
gblawson - TD#27667 |
Gordon; I ,too was thinking checkerboard but shy of sugesting a 6" strip all around just under the window line. I see a great likeness to an MG Magnette. As for the gearshift I drove an early Bentley with right hand drive. The shift lever was to the right of the accelerator pedal and the hand-brake on the outside of the body. That was strange. Sandy p.s. I like it. |

Shared body panels and many items from the Riley 2.6... only 1,024 of the 6/90 MKII built... (now i have to learn how to weld...won't post a photo of the passenger side for a few months....) |

Congratultions. The car is worth saving and it looks like it has come to someone who can and will do it. The body style is a larger version of the MG ZB Magnette. It is perhaps the best of the mass produced 1950s British styles, when compared to the Austins Humbers etc. of the same era. There were a few in Vancouver in the late 50s but have not seen one in years. The left hand gear shift is a marvel; never knew it existed. Like Sandy I have driven a RHD Mk VI Bently with the gear shift on the right of the drivers seat; perfectly useable. Terry |

According to a few articles I've read, out of the 1024, there are only about 20 left on the road (correct me if i'm wrong)... they did have rust issues, and the passenger side has all the prime examples! Still, it certainly seems solid and the engine seems strong. |
