MG TD TF 1500 - What are these holes for?
The two holes (see attached) on the RH side of the body in front of the right door seem to be original. Anyone know what they are for?

Just call me Captain "not" obvious. Makes sense now. Looking for opinions: Since the holes are there would you get a radio and an antenna or just weld them up. Thanks everyone. |

Welded mine up. |

Welded mine, too. Who can hear a radio in one of these cars, anyway? And a period radio would be AM only. If it works, you'll find little to listen to on AM. |

I put a nice modern radio and power antenna in the MGB I just sold. Never used it. Hope the new owner likes it. I'm sure I would never use a radio in the TD (except when the Buckeyes are playing and I'm out somewhere). Were antennas an aftermarket item? How about radios? |

Easiet to just put a replacement antenna in the holes unless your ready to paint the car. They are part of that cars history. I would leave them unless doing a concourse of course. Regards Bill Chasser jr TD3834 |

Ah, but when you park up with a friend you can listen to romantic mood music...... David |

My car had one antenna hole in the scuttle when I acquired it. Not knowing how to weld, I simply patched it on the inside with fiberglass and used body filler to finish off the outside. Been invisible for 37 years. |
