MG TD TF 1500 - Wire/Brake Line Clips

Has anyone run across anything better than these clips? Mine seem poorly made (break easily), don’t stay in the hole and can’t accommodate wires and lines very well. I’m not concerned about originality as much as I am with the wires/ lines staying where they are put.

Several years ago when I was installing the brake and fuel lines on dad’s car I went through 47 failures of the damn things. They were not made correctly (didn’t allow the tabs to pass by each other) and were extremely brittle. I bought them from both Moss and another major US MG supplier. I’m sure they were all originating from the same source. Needless to say it was an expensive loss and neither vendor was willing to replace the culls. I got the typical song and dance from Moss “ We haven’t noted any failures.” Funny how I’m always the first to complain. I guess the one complaining on the other end of the phone didn’t count.

Last summer I bought another batch of 20 from Moss to have another go at it. They must have found a different source because all 20 worked as they should without failure.

Yes. These clips are the same as original MG clips and work perfectly.

As you can see by the pic in Bruces post the tabs are staggered so that they correctly pass by each other when collapsed to enter the hole. There have been many inferior batches used by the usual suppliers. The tabs actually butted up against each other and would snap off as they fouled entering the holes. The tabs would then twist and break off...

Also there are several positions that require a larger clamp to hold the harness they include on the frame just below the dynamo for the harness heading toward the headlights and on the inside of the left firewall brace for the harness heading toward the MC. These larger clips are used on early Ford tractors under dash. These can also be found on EBay

I believe this is the ford tractor clip that Bill was referring to. (let me know if it is not).
