MG TD TF 1500 - Yellow side screens
Is there a cure/propriety cleaner for side screen yellowing? I thought I had read so in the archives so time ago? Can't find it. Perhaps it was yet another dream! Cheers Has |

I use a product called "Plexus" (B.T. I. Chemical Co., Oak Park, California)... picked it up from a local hardware store... really cleaned my plastic windows.. seems to fill up scratches... did get rid of a small amount of yellow I had along the bottom seam of my rear window... Check at your local airport using airport transfers tonbridge as this was developed for aircraft perspex.... |

Two products are avalable to replace the yellowing and (by now probably) cracking, side screen plastic material - Acrillic (plexiglass just to mention one name) and polycarbonate. Polycarbonate yellows more quickly but behaves better in cold weather; while acrillic will retain its clarity much longer but becomes quite brittle when approaching 5°C. Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |

Has - The MG Owner's Club in Swavesey recently featured a product in their Enjoying MG magazine called Renovo. From the article and pictures, I gather that it is the same type of product as Plexus and it appears to work quite will. It is available from their Spares and Accessories for £4.99 for 30ml or £14.95 for 100ml. The MGOC Spares and Accessories number is 01954 231318 or their web site is at: http://www.mgocaccessories.co.uk/acatalog/ Good luck - Dave |
