Triumph Spitfire - Want to buy '67 Mk III in reasonable shape - So. California
My first car was a 1967 Triumph Spitfire Mk III that I purchased from my sister in 1977. She was the original owner. Now, about to turn 40 in the new millenium with a 15-year old son and a mid-life crisis in full-tilt, I'm wanting to relive my past and have something to tinker around with so my son can have the same great memories of driving around in that convertible like I did. If anyone in Southern California has a '67 Mk III, preferably with the walnut dash and it's in good running condition with no rust, send me an e-mail. I don't care about the cosmetic condition so long as the price is right and it's a good runner. My best memory, of course, is when the splines wore down on my wire wheels and I lost my left front wheel coming off a freeway offramp at about 65 m.p.h. I'm lucky I wasn't killed. The good news is, I've worn a seatbelt ever since. Ciao, Jeff in San Diego, CA |
