Triumph Spitfire - wire wheels, mk3 spitfire
|has anyone had or know of problems with wire wheel adapters becoming loose. Ive lost a wheel due to this and wondered if anyone can shed light on this problem. Ive been told that the normal wheel nut should be changed for a special type, The other problem is that it is very difficult to get a socket onto the nut as it is so close to the adapter. I would like to retain wire wheels on the car. I also had a problem with the rear drive shaft shearing off close to the keyway, resulting in the wheel and drum parting company with the car. perhaps due to additional strain on the shaft. An inherant problem?|
