Triumph TR6 - Fuel Filter Installation

I am replacing the fuel filter on my tr. The Bentley manual says to be careful "to make sure that the pump rocker arm is located correctly against the cam shaft before tightening the attachment nuts". How do you know that it is correct?? Does the pump just fit right in and automatically lines up? Shawn.
