Check out Richard Good at Goodparts.com. He can sell you his cam or make one to your specs. He can also redo your head including valves and set your compression where you want, has tubular lifters, roller rockers, ram air cleaner, triple stromberg carbs with manifolds, will recurve your distributor, has suspension parts or will sell you a whole engine for about $5500.00. I rebuilt mine myself and with his parts it was a little over $3000.00. What you end up with is about 170 hp and a whole lot of torque. I would consider his parts to be much better in quality than any thing you can get from British Victoria or Moss. Some advice on the cam. When you install it have someone who knows what they are doing do it. When I bought the cam I bought an adjustable cam sproket from British Victoria to go along with it so I could advance the cam timing which is supposed to give you more bottom end. I had a friend help me time the cam using a degree wheel and dial indicator and we thought we knew what we were doing. We did it three times and I finally had it done by a machine shop and we were retarded 7 degrees from TDC which was opposite of what I was trying to do. I had them put it to zero and the car runs great. Doing this is especially important if you shave the head. You will not get the dot to dot from your gears and be on if you don't do this. Good Luck. |
