Triumph TR6 - T9 gearbox swap options
Hello, I am interested in such swap as a non-O.D. gearbox is noisy sometimes. I lost infos on T9 and T5 swap. I could find 2 T9 easily in good condition. But now I need a kit to adapt them on my TR6. Thaks all, JGC |

Why don't you go all the way to a t56 |

Thery're the man 6 speed Built for the Viper in 92 to handle the torque and then the Corvette adopted them and then Ford. Now they are all over the place. Check with John ,above, and see id the Ford 5 speed adapter they do will take the 6 speed trans. It's an idea for my TR8 and it is not to expensive a swap for the 8. Don't know about the 6. Do it so I can then put 1 in my 6 |

That's the Toyota swap. A good one too. |

Hello, I think it is a good idea also. And it is easy to find a Supra box. Thanks all, JGC |

I blew the dif. on my '72 on Labour Day. Replaced it with a Nissan dif. from Richard Good, fits like a glove. I have not run it yet though. If you stick with the stock trns., you will have to buy a driveshaft that is 2" shorter. He sells them for $250. If you switch to the Toy. 5 speed, you get to keep your orig. driveshaft. I'm putting the $250 toward a 5 speed, if I can find one. Rob |

JG, did you find a W58 trans? I don't know where you are in Quebec, but in eastern Ont. they just do not seem to exist. If you find a source, maybe you could let me know. It might be worth my while to drive east to get one. thanks Rob |

Hello, Go to the site www.lespac.com and you will see in véhicules/autres/ pièces automobiles. Click on the latter and seach with the words supra transmission. It will give you 2 good results: the first: 1984 it is a scrap-yard and the last a guy parting a toyota supra 88. Wish it could help... Cheers, JGC P.S. I do not know any of them, but the 1988 supra, it is written: transmission good, engine broken.. |

Will a 1988 supra w58 work? I know that Herman states that you need a tranny from 1982-1985. |
